Remodeling Your Life Better

With the topsy-turvy economy, you may have wondered,. "Should we spend money on our home? Does it make sense to even consider remodeling?" Real estate holds a value that has nothing to do with money. Your home has a sense of place. Home is where we start and end our day. Home is where we create families and memories for a lifetime. In the new economy, we may have to look past the dollars and cents value of our house to what really makes a house our “home”.

Case in point, recently we completed a master bath remodel for a client who had lived with a cramped and poorly designed bathroom for many years.

During the Design/Remodel we did the following:

Relocated the bathroom within the master suite.
Took over about 24 square feet from the adjacent garage.
Added to and redesigned the walk in closet accessed by a new pocket door.
Installed an easy to clean shower with double shower heads.
Doubled the amount of counter space
Tripled storage within the bathroom
Installed in-floor heat and much brighter lighting.

At the completion of the project, our client expressed how thrilled she was with her new bathroom. She said

“Finally, I have a bathroom designed around me and my life, not some builder's afterthought!”

By making the bathroom easier to use, easier to keep clean and all around, much more enjoyable, we have improved our client's Quality of Life.

As a homeowner, I look at the changes to my own home as actions that make my life better. Sure adding monetary value is great, but at the end of the day, as I am able to relax in MY home designed around me, the dollars and cents are really irrelevant.
