Sometimes it’s hard to remember what to look for in considering a reputable company for your remodeling project. The chart below will help guide you in deciding what is important to you.
- Involved in supporting the local community.
- Shows up on time for meetings and respects your time.
- Has design expertise and resources. IE: Draftsman, Color Designer.
- Uses same trade partners consistently.
- Have verifiable references with names and telephone numbers.
- Is licensed and insured and provides proof of insurance for himself and trade partners.
- Has a three-year warrantee on workmanship.
- Biographical background available on company owners.
- Provides a detailed proposal with a fixed quote.
- Contract is fully detailed and includes information required by law.
- Contractor has online portal where you can track the progress of your project.
- Does the contractor have a clear process about communicating with you? For example: Your phone calls are returned the same day.
- Is a scheduled start and finish date provided in writing?
- Does the contractor provide a performance guarantee?
- Does the contractor promise to leave your home better then they found it?
- Is organized and demonstrates a culture of quality throughout the company.
- Provides and stands behind a Client Bill of Rights.
- Contractor is certified by NARI or NAHB (National Organizations dedicated to raising performance and quality standards for all contractors.)
